Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu has urged the Union Minister of state for Petroleum Dharmendra Pradhan to set up a petroleum university in the State.
The Chief Minister, who came here from Rajahmundry today, met Pradhan who was here to review the arrangements for the Prime Minister’s visit in July to inaugurate the underground rock cavern for crude storage.
Chandrababu Naidu said five sites had been shown to the Central team in East Godavari district for setting up the university.
A site near Pithapuram town in the district would be suitable.
He urged the minister to expedite the work on the university.
He also wanted increase in allocation of gas to the gas-based power plants in the State.
