Human resources management curriculum should reflect modern changes in corporate and business environment, said K Pandiarajan, Minister of School Education, Archaeology and Youth Welfare, Government of Tamil Nadu.
Speaking at a Human Resources summit Tanthra 2017 at DG Vaishnav College, Chennai, he said human resources management studies lend clarity on emerging concepts like merger and acquisitions in the corporate sector.
Vidhya Srinivasan, Dean and Adviser, Department of Master of Human Resource Management and Master of Social work, said the curriculum should also address the needs of current generation.
The Minister released ‘The HRD Almanac’, a compendium of HRD practices edited and authored by Vidhya Srinivasan.
SV Nathan, Senior Director, Chief Talent Officer, Deloitte, said HR is also about fostering leadership qualities such as encouraging young talent, standing up for your subordinates at critical times, listening, speaking up when necessary, taking risk and striving for excellence.
