IIT Madras will offer learn to design 'Mobile Apps', an eight-week online app development course, through NPTEL for free of charge.
Introduction to Modern Application Development or IMAD is a free Massive Open Online Course (MOOC) offered by IIT Madras and Hasura, a core technology start-up.
The course curriculum will include:
1. introduction to the Internet and its common network protocols.
2. build a complete web application.
3. learn the how and why of modelling data for application using databases.
4. learn about performance and how to ensure security for an application.
5. learn how to build your own mobile application.
Every year, India produces lakhs of engineers who aspire to enter the tech industry. However, there’s a skill gap between market needs and what students have learnt. The free course is one of the measures to address this gap, says an IIT Madras press release.
The free online course IMAD will start from July 24 and registration and can be done by visiting www.imad.tech.
