The graduating batch of Institute of Rural Management, Anand (IRMA) got an average salary package of Rs 10.22 lakh per annum, with the highest package being offered at Rs 46.50 per annum from recruiters, including government, cooperatives and marketing companies.

At the annual convocation held in Anand on Saturday, Prof. Rakesh Saxena, Director-in-Charge of the institute, informed that the institute achieved 100 per cent placement with recruiters from the fields of cooperatives and producer companies, government, non-government development agencies, agri-business and rural marketing organisations.

About 173 (Post Graduate Programme in Rural Management) participants graduated this year. Ritika Goel, who had topped her batch of PRM 36, was awarded the prestigious Kuchibhotla Vasanthi Gold Medal by the Chief Guest.

At the 36th annual convocation held on April 29, 2017, the institute had Dr Tushaar Shah, Senior Fellow, International Water Management Institute, Colombo, Sri Lanka, as the Chief Guest.

In his convocation address, Shah said, "The best thing he left behind was his idea of IRMA. IRMA should use every convocation to revive and reflect over the work of that exceptional man. Hidden in his legacy is the idea of IRMA that is even more relevant today than it was then."

IRMA Chairman T Nanda Kumar in his speech emphasised that recognising the ‘disruption’ in the national and global scenario – with changes in policy, technology, markets, environment, and challenges in global economic movement, it is important that the graduates ensure that they build/assist institutions for building prosperity for rural India, by remaining sensitive to social issues and contribute to the society by having a commitment to serve rural India.
