The first ever Australian Alumni Careers Conclave is to be held in Mumbai on June 25. The recruitment platform features a careers fair for experienced alumni from Australian Universities.
The Piramal Group, Bajaj Allianz General Insurance, Just Dial, DBS Bank, Shoppers Stop, NCR Corporation, HDFC Asset Management, Mars Enterprises, Macquarie Bank, Worley Parsons, National Australia Bank and TCS are said to be participating at the conclave, profiling active positions in their organisations.
More than 100 experienced Australian alumni currently employed in middle and senior management positions in the corporate sector are also expected to participate at the conclave.
Organised by the Australian Trade Commission, Australian Government, the Conclave is an 'Australian Alumni Only' platform for engagement between Indian corporates and Australian alumni in India.
The conclave would also feature a panel session featuring senior recruitment and Human Resource (HR) professionals discussing career paths and tips for alumni’s from Australian Universities.
The conclave provides employers the opportunity to gain access to high quality non traditional candidates in a one-stop environment. It also provides a platform for experienced alumni from Australian Universities and educational institutions to meet and network with recruitment and HR heads from diverse companies with active job openings.
Tom Calder, Trade Commissioner, Australian Trade Commission noted that the conclave was part of a proactive approach to engage with Australian alumni by providing them a platform to interact with corporates in India for greater career outcomes. It is also a part of the Australian Trade Commission’s education initiatives.
“As more and more people look to give themselves the skills required for a competitive global environment, an Australian education has become one of the most sought after in the world. Australia is home to some of the world’s leading educational institutions, researchers and academics, while Australian qualifications are recognised across the globe,” Calder pointed out in a statement.
Noting that Australian Alumni who are now based in India hold significant transnational experience, he added that an Australian experience helps students develop key jobs skills such as adaptability, global understanding and tolerance, leadership, and independence.
