The Narsee Monjee Institute of Management Studies (NMIMS), Hyderabad, saw 67 recruiter companies participate in campus placements to offer jobs to the Class of 2017, consisting of 81 students.

The average package was around Rs 9 lakhs, an increase of 36 per cent over last year. The placements season saw a larger number of recruiters from diversified sectors arriving on campus. Students were getting into strong corporates for their summer internship projects also.

The Vice-Chancellor of NMIMS, Rajan Saxena, presented a progress report at the first graduation ceremony in Hyderabad on Sunday. He said the institute had managed to achieve 100 per cent placement and the campus had bolstered its position amongst the best B-schools in the country.

Ajit Rangnekar, former Dean, ISB Hyderabad, and Head–Research & Innovation Circle of Hyderabad, also addressed the gathering. Seventy-four students from the PGDM batch and 17 from the Executive PGDM-MPE (Management Programme for Executives) received their diplomas. The chief guest was Jayant Gandhi, the Chancellor’s nominee.

Among the major activities of the institute was the hosting of the Second International Conference on the theme 'Management Challenges & Trends in Digital Era' in January 2017. More than 50 research papers were presented by faculty, students and research scholars from India and abroad. A post-conference workshop on 'Publishing Research in International Journals' was also conducted.
