Businesses will have to file their monthly commercial taxes returns only through e-filing from July 2012, according to a press release from the Tamil Nadu Commercial Taxes Department.
The release said the Department will not accept manual filing on monthly returns from July, when the monthly returns for June should be filed.
The online filing facility for dealers is available on the official Web site www.tnvat.gov.in.
As of now 80 per cent of the dealers file their returns online.
To assist online filing, the Department has set up a helpdesk in all the assessment circles, the release said.
