UGC grants autonomy status to Jain University

The University Grants Commission (UGC) has granted autonomy status to Jain University as per UGC's new regulation on “Categorisation of universities for Grant of Graded Economy 2018 under the UGC Act of 1956’’.

Jain University has been placed under Category II of institutions eligible for graded economy and the grant was awarded based on accreditation given by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC).

Last year, Jain University was graded 4 stars in the Young University category under the Karnataka State Universities Rating Framework which was initiated by the Government of Karnataka. The university is among 60 universities across the country to get autonomy status.
