The Institute of Rural Management Anand (IRMA) has said it has successfully concluded its unique winter internship placements for the 38th batch of the flagship Post Graduate Diploma in Rural Management (PRM).

Among the top recruiters for the winter internships included World Bank, Godrej, Pidilite, ITC, Adani, IndusInd, Big Basket, Reliance Foundation, Future Group, Grofers and DLight, among a total of 110 organisations, including Amul and NDDB.

The batch of 172 students was placed within three days’ time with an average stipend of Rs 48,840, and the highest touching Rs 1.8 lakh.

The recruiters made as many as 404 internship offers in diverse domains including agribusiness, rural marketing, banking, financial services and insurance, CSR, social business, development organisations, and consultancy firms.

Shyam Singh, chair of the winter internship, noted that agribusiness and rural marketing companies offered a large number of internship projects to students. "The students were particularly excited about the internship opportunity on a World Bank project. The surge in opportunities for IRMA's management graduates is primarily the result of IRMA's vast network of alumni working in diverse sectors and geographies.

Recruiters across sectors echoed the belief that IRMA graduates can bridge the gap between rural and urban while bringing development benefits to the rural economy and the firms they work in, he added.

IRMA's final campus placements will commence from the first week of February 2019, which will be followed by summer internship placements for the next batch.
