As Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) made in-roads, a former Prime Minister and two former Union Ministers are likely to bite the dust in the parched districts of Karnataka, namely Tumkur, Chikkaballapur, Kolar and Chitradurga.
Former Prime Minister H D Deve Gowda, who migrated from his home-base Hassan to Tumkur, is trailing against G S Basavaraj of BJP by 13,533 votes.
In Chikkaballapur, former Union Minister M Veerappa Moily of the Congress is also trailing by 1,81,079 votes to B N Bache Gowda of the BJP.
In Kolar, former Union minister K H Muniyappa of the Congress is trailing by 1,54,901 votes over S Muniswamy, a BBMP (Bengaluru civic body) Corportor.
In Chitradurga, A Narayanaswamy (former MLA from Anekal near Bengaluru) of the BJP is leading over B N Chandrappa of Congress by 26998 votes.
