The Central Pollution Control Board has recommended a ban on heavy vehicles from entering Delhi for two days (November 8-10). The CPCB opines heavy pollution caused by such vehicles is expected to add to the woes of the national capital. Delhi’s air quality remained in ‘very poor’ category on Wednesday with the winds blowing from the stubble burning areas of neighbouring states.

The European Union's executive will publish its quarterly economic forecasts for the 28 EU member countries, including Britain, which is due to leave the bloc in March, and for the euro zone as a whole. Data released on October 30 showed the euro zone economy grew only half as much expected in the third quarter.

Federal Reserve policymakers hold their penultimate meeting of 2018, with no changes to policy or economic forecasts expected when their decision is announced on Thursday. They are expected to indicate that US interest rates will rise by another 25 basis points in December, the Fed's fourth increase this year, despite Trump's complaints that rate hikes have already gone too far.

Bangladesh's election commission will announce the election schedule.  The country's ruling party has rejected an opposition party's demand for a caretaker government that it says is essential for a free and fair general election due to be held in December. Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, and former prime minister and BNP's Khaleda Zia, who is in jail on corruption charges, have between them ruled Bangladesh for decades and are bitter rivals. The BNP has said its leader has been jailed on trumped-up charges to keep her out of politics.

Xiaomi is hosting a launch event in London today. The company's Facebook post says it is Xiaomi's very first launch in the United Kingdom. The teaser image suggests that it will be a phone with an in-display fingerprint sensor.
