President Ram Nath Kovind, who is currently in Tamil Nadu on a two day visit, will attend the 160 convocation of University of Madras and also grace the convocation ceremony of Guru Nanak College. On Friday Kovind inaugurated the Centenary celebrations of Christian Medical College in Vellore.

NASA is all set to launch its first ever mission to study the deep interior of Mars. The Interior Exploration using Seismic Investigations, Geodesy and Heat Transport (InSight) will take off from the West Coast of US. The lander will study the deep interior and learn how all rocky planets including Earth and Moon are formed.

The National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test (NEET) 2018 for admission into medical courses will be held today across the country. The test is conducted by CBSE and the merit list will be used for admission to Veterinary Science and Animal Husbandry degree courses in recognised colleges. Delhi High Court in April 2018 allowed all the candidates including those from open schools and upper age limit to appear for the exam.

Vice President Venkaiah Naidu will begin his five-day trip to South America today. He is scheduled to visit Guatmala, Peru and Panama to discuss bilateral trade and press for investments into India. This is the first overseas trip of the Vice President after assuming the office.

A massive solar storm is likely to hit the Earth today, according to NASA. The cosmic particles ejected out of the three coronal holes from the sun towards the Earth will be creating the storm. The solar storm is expected to affect the satellite-based technology and the Earth could experience a partial tech blackout.
