A ministerial panel headed by Bihar Chief Minister Sushil Modi is set to meet today in Bengaluru to take stock of the functioning of the GST Network. The meeting will also discuss on the new proposed software for returns filing once the forms are introduced next year. The meeting will primarily see discussions on the technical issues faced by GSTN.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit Odisha today to launch various development projects in the State. He will also inaugurate the Jharsuguda airport during the visit and dedicate the Garjanbahal open cast mines to the nation. Modi will be laying the foundation stone for the Talcher fertiliser plant and address a public meeting.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will roll out his ambitious healthcare policy ‘Ayushmaan Bharat’ on September 23 from Jharkhand. The policy will be launched with with flagging off battery-operated bus services at AIIMS. The flagship programme aims at providing affordable healthcare to the people across the nation. Under the scheme, up to Rs 5 lakh cashless insurance will be provided to poor families.

Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe will meet US President Donald Trump on Sunday over a dinner. However, a formal meeting between the two leaders will be held on September 26, according to Japanese officials. The meeting will be held on the sidelines of Abe’s visit to New York to attend the United Nations General Assembly. During the meeting, Abe is likely to face pressure to cut auto exports to the US.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate Sikkim airport today. The State’s first airport will be at Pakyong and the greenfield airport is located about 30 kms from Gangtok. The commercial operations will will begin from first week of October. After the inauguration, Modi will address a public rally at St Xaviers School ground.
