Union minister Uma Bharti will launch Swajal, the national drinking water programme today in Uttarakhand. As a pilot project the programme will be implemented in six States. Swajal is a community-owned drinking water project for sustained potable water supply. The minister will also be launching Ganga Gram programme.

State governments of Delhi and Haryana are likely to meet today as per NGT direction to resolve the issue of rising ammonia  levels in the Yamuna river. The National Green Tribunal had directed the governments on Friday to solve the Yamuna pollution crisis.

The Centre convenes meeting of all irrigation ministers of southern states in Hyderabad today to address the issue of water sharing. Irrigation Minister Arjun Ram Meghwal will chair the meeting and expected to initiate talks on the proposed interlinking of rivers by the government.

Venezuela will start the pre-sale of its own cryptocurrency Petro today. The country has set the initial value of Petro at $60 and sale of around 100 million units will take place in the pre-sale. President Maduro says the cryptocurrency will Venezuela pull out of the economic crisis.

Art of Living founder Sri Sri Ravi Shankar will be meeting a delegation of Muslims today for a second round of out-of court settlement for the Ayodhya dispute. Sri Sri had visited Ayodhya in November 2017 to initiate talks for amicable solution for the Babri Masjid issue.
