Nagaland new Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio will be sworn-in by Governor P B Acharya in Kohima. In the recently concluded Assembly elections, the NDPP-BJP alliance had won 30 seats. The Governor has asked Rio to prove his majority on the floor of the House by March 16. Biplab Deb will be also be sworn-in as Tripura Chief Minister today by Governor Tathagata Roy in Agartala.

The NCLT will hear Aircel’s plea for bankruptcy protection today. The telecom provider had filed for bankruptcy protection on February 27 after Maxis Communication decided not to pump additional funds into the company. Aircel has a debt of Rs 15,500 cr to lenders.

Congress president Rahul Gandhi will be visiting Singapore and Malaysia on three-day tour from today. He will deliver a lecture at National University of Singapore and is expected to address the Indian diaspora.

Bangladesh President Abdul Hamid will visit India on a four-day tour. He is likely to visit Assam and Meghalaya where he was staying during the 1971 Liberation War before attending the founding ceremony of International Solar Alliance in New Delhi on March 11.

National Company Law Tribunal will today hear the Liberty House’s plea to consider its resolution plan for the Bhushan Steel. Liberty House had moved NCLT last month against rejection of its bid for the Steel plant by Committee of Creditors.
