Five things to watch out for today

The Prime Minister Office will be holding a meeting with officials of Finance and Commerce Ministry to discuss on the GST refunds on exporters issue. The exporters claims that 70 per cent of the refunds are stuck even after eight months of the tax rollout. The meeting will chart out plans for speedy refund mechanism.

Bharti Airtel board is likely to meet today to consider raising funds through debt instruments. The funds will help in its capex plan to bolster 4G networks. For the past one year, the telco has been raising funds by reducing its stake in its listed tower unit, Bharti Infratel.

Telangana budget session will begin from today. Farmers’ issue, welfare and development programme of the TRS government are likely to dominate the session. Governor E S L Narasimhan will address the budget session. The state government has decided to introduce an investment support scheme for farmers.
