Bihar will vote today in the final round of the five-phase Assembly elections. Voting for 57 seats, including 24 in the Seemanchal region bordering West Bengal and spread over nine districtswill take place. A total of 1,55,43,594 electors are eligible to vote to decide the fate of 827 candidates, including 58 women. Counting of votes will be on November 8.

India and South Africa will take the field today on the first day of the first Test match in the ongoing series. The match is being played in Mohali. India will be keen to get ahead, having lost the T20 and one-day series.

T-Hub, said to be the country’s biggest startup incubator, will be inaugurated by Ratan Tata in Hyderabad today. The first phase of the project has come up at the International Institute of Information Technology. The facility is being set up in collaboration with IIIT Hyderabad, the Indian School of Business and the NALSAR University of Law.

Microsoft chief Satya Nadella will today meet industry leaders, including Mahindra Group Chairman Anand Mahindra, Axis Bank head Shikha Sharma, and Tata Starbucks CEO Avani Davda. The India-born CEO will also deliver a keynote address at Microsoft’s Future Unleashed event in Mumbai.

The Financial Stability and Development Council headed by Finance Minister Arun Jaitley will meet today to take stock of the economic situation. The fiscal situation, external sector environment, financial sector reforms, rising non-performing assets and regulatory issues are likely to figure in the meeting.
