A special court is likely to pronounce its first judgment in the coal scam today. Jharkhand Ispat and its two directors are facing trial in a case of allotment of a coal block in Jharkhand. This is the first case in coal block allocation scam in which the special court, exclusively dealing with all the related matters, is to pronounce its verdict.

The Telecom Commission, an inter-ministerial body, is scheduled to meet today to discuss the next round of spectrum auction which would see radiowaves worth ₹5.36 lakh crore put up for sale. The sale is expected to be held in July.

A section of employees of IDBI Bank will be on strike from today to protest the government’s plan to pare its stake in the lender. While employees under the banner of United Forum of IDBI Officers and Employees has given a one-day strike call on March 28, another outfit, United Platform of IDBI Bank Unions, is on a four-day strike till March 31.
