Five things to watch out for today

President Pranab Mukherjee will inaugurate the ‘IndiaSkills Competition’ today, which is World Youth Skills Day. IndiaSkills is a competition organised by the skill development ministry and the National Skill Development Corporation to select talent for the WorldSkills International Competition in Abu Dhabi next year.

Infosys will declare its results for the quarter ended June 30 today. Following the release of results, top officials will interact with media. The company expects revenue growth at 11.5-13.5 per cent in FY17, which is better than analyst estimates.

A group of OEMs and industry bodies who have joined hands to give a boost to the domestic electric vehicle industry will launch a consortium, xEV One, today. The members of the body include Mahindra & Mahindra, Mahindra Reva, Maruti Suzuki, Ford India, Tata Motors, SIAM and ARAI.

Vice-President Hamid Ansari will lead the Indian delegation at the 11th Asia-Europe Meeting Summit which opens in Ulaanbaatar, capital of Mongolia, today. The theme of the two-day summit is ‘20 Years of ASEM: Partnership for the Future through Connectivity’.

The Davis Cup Asia-Oceania group-I tie between India and South Korea kicks off in Chandigarh today. In the opening match, Ram Kumar Ramnathan (world no. 217) will take on Seong-Chan Hong, ranked more than 200 places below him (world no.427).
