The Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Housing and Urban Affairs Hardeep Singh Puri has urged Housing and Urban Development Corporation (HUDCO) to focus on the needs of aspirational districts and to increase its pace of investment in housing and urban infrastructure segment.
Puri, who was speaking at the 48th foundation day of HUDCO here, said, “HUDCO has been able to strengthen its growth trajectory from a meagre profit of ₹11 lakh in 1970 to ₹1,100 crore is indicative of its professional competence.”
He added that HUDCO has been focusing on three areas: incentives, imagination and institution building to sustain its momentum.
Later, Puri presented awards in several categories in the field of housing and infrastructure. It included Best Practice Awards for improving the living environment, Design Awards, and Outstanding Performance Award.
