Hyderabad Metro Rail Ltd is set to invite request for proposals (RFPs) for development of multi-level vehicle parking complexes along the metro network and other locations in the city.

Arvind Kumar, Principal Secretary of Municipal Administration, said the government is taking up multi-level car parking complexes in a big way in Hyderabad in the public-private partnership (PPP) mode.

Coordinating agency

Presiding over a meeting of senior officers at the Metro Rail Bhavan on Thursday, he asked officials of different departments to come out with specific proposals about their requirements in the plots identified for the complexes.

He said the RFPs would be floated soon and HMRL will be the coordinating agency for the project.

Kumar said the property and revenue from the parking facilities would belong to the government department/organisation concerned. All the multi-level parking lots would be part of the Integrated Smart Parking Management System of the Telangana police department, he said.

During the meeting, NVS Reddy, Managing Director of HMRL, outlined the salient features and the advanced technologies of the project. He said 30 to 40 MLPs would be built in PPP mode.
