The Institute of Engineering & Management (IEM), Kolkata organised a three-day long techno-management fest, Innovación 2016.
The fourth edition of the fest was held between January 14 and January 16.
From robots fighting against each other to competing in a race, the event saw participation from students across India and across the world.
Innovación also witnessed the lectures of great scholars from reputed educational firms and industries, the institute said in a press release.
Some of the major take-aways from this year’s, Innovación, were events like ‘Hell In A Cell’ (robo-fight); ‘X Race’ (a robot race); ‘Robofooties’ (where robots played football) and a robo-chess event ‘Checkmate’ (Grid follower) in the Robotics category.
Apart from these, there were coding events such as Algorithmist, Webolve and Almost There.
Innovación for the first time also conducted LaserTag and Zorb Soccer as special events.
Other events include ‘Electrocuted’ (circuit making competition), ‘Aperture’ (the photography challenge), ‘Innovare’ (innovative project competition), ‘IMS Mathemagic’, ‘Scrapyard Wars’ (make models out of scrap) and ‘Quaestio’ (quiz).
Another major highlight of this year’s annual fest at the IEM were the drone and international robotics exhibition.
