At ₹1.29 lakh-crore, Telangana IT exports grew at 17.93 per cent over that of the previous year. Comparatively, the national growth rate was 8.09 per cent and the rest of India (excluding Telangana) 6.92 per cent.
Telangana IT Minister KT Rama Rao said the share of exports from Telangana grew to 11.58 per cent in 2019-20 from 10.61 per cent in the previous year.
Releasing a report on the performance of the IT Department last year, he said employment in the State grew by 7.2 per cent as against the national average of 4.93 per cent.
Electronics sector
The State accounts for six per cent of the national electronics goods production, employing 1.15 lakh people in about 250 companies.
The report said the electronics sector received investment proposals to the tune of ₹7,377.84 crore.
MeeSeva, an electronic governance services portal, served over one lakh citizens every day, providing access to over 600 services. The MeeSeva window witnessed transactions worth over ₹4,500 crore a year.
The mobile-Governance solution, T-App Folio that offers over 225 services, has crossed over seven lakh downloads.
