The India Innovation Lab for Green Finance on Tuesday endorsed three financing instruments — Rooftop Solar Private Sector Financing Facility, Loans4SME (a lending platform for green investments) and currency exchange platform FX Hedging Facility.
“Our analysis for India Lab has demonstrated that these three green finance instruments can overcome investment barriers and better meet the needs of investors interested in opportunities in clean energy and green growth in India. Together, these pilots can drive millions in new investment,” said Gireesh Shrimali, Director of Climate Policy Initiative in India.
The instruments will pilot with the help of India Labs and its members, which include the Ministries of Finance and New & Renewable Energy, the Indian Renewable Energy Development Agency, ADB and World Bank, among others.
