The International Egg Commission (IEC) will adopt 30 government schools in Telangana to provide eggs as part of the mid-day meal programme.
“We will provide eggs for the schools for a period of one year,” said Suresh Chitturi, Vice-Chairman of IEC and Managing Director of Srinivasa Farms.
Talking to reporters at a meeting organised on the occasion of World Egg Day here on Friday, he said that the celebrations would help promote the IEC’s agenda to develop the poultry and egg industries.
‘Improve concentration levels’
“Besides facilitating development of healthy brain in young children, it would help improve concentration levels in school going children,” he said.
