Advanced Japanese Packaged Sewage Treatment Plant (STP) technology or ‘Johkasou’, with 80 per cent less operational cost, was launched officially in Chennai today.

The technology was developed by Daiki Axis, Japan, and marketed in India by Hubert Enviro Care Systems (P) Ltd (HECS), according to a press release.

JR Moses, Director, HECS, said in the press release that the Daiki Axis studied Indian market in the last few years and the technology has been tweaked to suit Indian conditions and statutory norms.

Additionally, Johkasou requires reduced capital and maintenance cost, compared with conventional STP, for small and midrange packaged plants. It has other advantages such as absence of odour and minimal maintenance too.

Rio Waza, Representative, Daiki Axis – Japan, stated in the press release that the technology has been used in Japan for the past 50 years and has helped transform Japan’s water bodies into one of the cleanest over the years.

The technology was introduced to over 10 dealer networks across South India in a conference today, which was attended by over 75 countries and STP Solution Providers.

HECS-Daiki Packaged STP capacity varies from a flow rate of 1 kilo litres per day (KLD) to over 500 KLD. The wide range makes it suitable for villas, restaurants, public toilets, apartments, hospitals, office complexes, industries and townships.
