Kalyan Jewellers has reported a robbery of gold and silver jewellery worth ₹98 lakh in a heist at Chavadi near Walayar on the Kerala-Tamil Nadu border this morning. The company has in a statement said that gold and silver ornaments valued at ₹98.05 lakh were being transported from Thrissur to Coimbatore in a vehicle with necessary documents. The vehicle was intercepted at Kakkachavadi by the robbers who forcibly evicted the driver and drove away. Kalyan Jewellers has lodged a complaint with the police in both Kerala (Palakkad) and Chavadi in Tamil Nadu.
