Telangana’s Chief Minister, K Chandrashekar Rao, has handed over a cheque for ₹4 crore, an appointment letter for a Group I job and documents for a 711-yard plot at Banjara Hills (Hyderabad) to Santoshi, the wife of Col. Santosh Kumar, who was killed in the clashes with China last week.
The Chief Minister, flanked by a couple of Ministers and Chief Secretary Somesh Kumar, visited Santoshi, her two kids, Santosh Kumar’s parents Upender and Manjula, and his sister Sruthi, in their house. He gave a cheque for ₹1 crore to the parents of Santosh Kumar.
After paying floral tributes to the late officer, the Chief Minister assured the family that the government would stand by the family. The Commanding Officer for the 16 Bihar Regiment on the border, Col Santosh Kumar was among the 20 soldiers killed in the skirmishes.
