Liugong India, an Indian subsidiary of Chinese construction machinery manufacturing firm Liugong, is planning to double its turnover in next two years.
“We currently have a turnover of $80 million and by 2020 we would want to take it to $160 million,” said Zeng Guang’an, Chairman, Liugong.
The Chinese company manufactures wheel loaders, motor graders, compactors and hydraulic excavators in India.
In the next few years, the company plans to expand its product portfolio to include dozers and cranes.
“They (dozers) are important but not easy to manufacture and cranes are used for various purposes including building construction. So, we plan to take it forward step by step,” he said.
The China-headquartered company started Indian operations in 2002 and founded its Indian subsidiary five years later. And in 2009, it set up a plant in Madhya Pradesh.
“India is one of the vital export hubs for LiuGong, we guarantee reliability and durability of our products. The production we undertake in India is not just for the country but also for neighbouring countries such as Bangladesh and Sri Lanka,” he said, adding that India is still an evolving market.
