An individual’s personality is an aggregate conglomeration of the decisions, said Samiksha Verma, President, Sarv Sikhsha Abhiyan, Ajmer.
She was speaking at a lecture on ‘Personality Development’ at Hukum Chand National Institute of Science and Technology, Ajmer, recently.
The campus interface with the corporate world was organised by Business Line in association with Cairn India, the fastest growing energy company in the world.
Personality has two faces – intrinsic and extrinsic, Verma said. “We should not emphasise only on the extrinsic which is face, health and skill but also on intrinsic which is blend of inspiration, courage and decision. These two traits propel a person to be different from others.”
She added that a future manager should have both the qualities to stand apart from the crowd. “A manager should be ready to accept the things which come in our way and we should be inquisitive like Satya Nadella, who has just become CEO of Microsoft by these traits only.”
Verma said, “We should always be ready to accept challenges and grab all the opportunities which come our way to reach the top of the ladder. There are no shortcuts to succeed and crutches will not help you.”
