In a major reshuffle of senior Indian Revenue Service (IRS) officers across the country, the Central Board of Direct Taxes (CBDT) on Monday transferred 240 Principal Commissioners of Income Tax (PCIT).
The transfer comes in the backdrop of the IT department's collection (includes income tax and corporate tax) in FY2015 falling marginally short (by about Rs 8,800 crore) of the target of Rs 7.05 lakh crore.
