Amid tight campaign expenditure, Arvind Kejriwal’s Aam Aadmi Party is reaching out to artists to raise funds.

AAP’s Mumbai North candidate for the Lok Sabha elections, Satish Jain has called for an evening of art with AAP on April 19 evening in the Mumbai suburbs of Borivali.

Titled ‘Kala Jansabha’, the event will be participated by several renowned artists including Prithvi Soni, Gautam Patole, Vipta Kapadia among others. These artistes will create their arts on two huge canvases and will later be sold to raise funds for the party.

The event is also open for any ‘Aam Aadmi’ who wishes to participate in the event to express themselves by way of drawing or penning down slogans for the party.

Jain’s wife, Meenal, is an artist by profession who will help in gathering in the artists.

Jain (45), an alumnus of IIM Bangalore, has worked in the financial services sector for 22 years, including in companies such as Morgan Stanley and HDFC Mutual Fund.

Satish Jain has been actively campaigning in his constituency over the last couple of months by way of door-to-door campaigns. Jain starts his day by meeting early birds, walkers and joggers and ends it with open public forums to learn about local issues and addressing their concerns.

On April 18, on public demand Medha Patkar joined him and addressed the local slums for four hours. Also, Anjali Damania, AAP’s Nagpur Lok Sabha candidate, rallied for his campaign pledging support for AAP.

Jain’s claim to fame was when he, along with Anjali Damania, exposed the ₹22,000 crore power scam in Maharshtra. Jain is also one of the members involved in drafting the economic policies of AAP.
