The Andhra Pradesh Government has initiated the process for the procurement of 2400 MW of thermal power on a long-term basis from thermal power stations to be developed under the Public Private Partnership (PPP) mode.
The process would be based on the Design, Build, Finance, Operate and Own (DBFOO) model.
According to the terms, the plants need to have coal linkage from CIL and have to be supplemented by imported coal and should have completed Commercial Operation Declaration before December 31, 2016.
While the tenders have been prepared in line with guidelines issued by the Ministry of Power, the Request For Qualification (RFQ) document is uploaded on the AP Transco and other sector related websites.
A pre-application conference meeting with prospective thermal power developers would be held on Wednesday (October 29) at 11 am in Vidyut Soudha, Hyderabad.
K. Vijayanand, Chairman and Managing Director of AP Transco, in a statement said the power developers can seek clarifications and provide feedback and suggestions on the bidding documents and the process during the meeting.
