With price of tomatoes touching the Rs 100-mark (a kilogram) in some places, the Andhra Pradesh Government has decided to intervene and bring in stocks from Madanapalle (Anantapur) to ease the situation.
The Marketing department would procure tomatoes and supply the stock to rythu bazaars in Visakhapatnam, Kakinada, Vijayawada and Guntur.
A week later, rythu bazaars in other towns in the State too would be covered, a Government release said here on Monday.
