An augmented reality (AR) app has been introduced in Kerala for the benefit of patients to understand arthritis and joint replacement concepts. EG Mohan Kumar, medical superintendent at Al Shifa Hospital said the app enables the surgeon to show the patient a composite 3D view of how the knee joint looks and moves and explain the steps of joint replacement surgery.
