Arunachal Pradesh Civil Aviation Parliamentary Secretary Jambey Tashi today said a fresh tender would be floated for the disbanded Naharlagun—Guwahati—Tawang helicopter service and the Global Vectra operations would resume in the land-locked state after clearing outstanding bills and approval of the Union Home Ministry.

Responding to a question that the eight—seater Global Vectra had withdrawn due to non-payment of huge outstanding bills while the Naharlagun—Guwahati—Tawang helicopter service had been discontinued long back, Tashi clarified that things take time at the government level and the helicopter service, subsidised by the Union Ministry of Home Affairs, has to pass through lot of official formalities.

He said that tenders called repeatedly by the state government had to be cancelled for want of required number of bidders.

“Once the tender is accepted, the service provider has to be okayed by the Ministry of Home Affairs and the Director General of Civil Aviation for it to operate in the state. The agreement between Global Vectra and the state government had also expired,” he said.
