Indian Business Museum at IIM-Kozhikode will be inaugurated by Union HRD Minister Pallam Raju on Saturday during the 15th annual convocation.
The inauguration will take place in the presence of A.C. Muthiah, Chairman of Board of Governors, IIMK; Meghnad Desai, Professor-Emeritus, London School of Economics, and Debashis Chatterjee, Director, IIM-K.
The museum is housed in IIMK’s world-class library with the objective to inspire the aspiring young entrepreneurs in the country. The museum houses memoirs from major business stakeholders in the country such as Tata Group, Godrej, Reliance, Infosys, RBI etc.
There are huge pictorial displays of Indian history from the pre-independence era to the post independence liberalisation. The museum has given significant importance to the constitution of Indian political and social system besides attributing to the past and current industry trends such as retail, textiles, auto, BFSI etc.
Chatterjee, IIM-K director, said, “This day marks a significant milestone in the history of business education in India. We at IIM Kozhikode are privileged to be able to pioneer the institutionalisation of a rich storehouse of knowledge in the form of the Indian Business Museum.”
IIMK’s 15th annual convocation will include 327 graduating students, of which over 30 per cent women students will be empowered to lead Indian and international markets.
