TiE biz plan competition

Deadline for registration for WE-TiE (Women Entrepreneurs-TiE) business plan competition has been extended till January 5. According to WE-TiE release this proposed competition is for budding and aspiring Women Entrepreneurs from North Karnataka region, who are willing to start their enterprise or those who have recently started their venture. Top 10 selected teams will be mentored by the charter members of TiE Hubli.

Credai realty expo

Bangalore needs affordable housing and builders should take the lead, said M Lakshminarayana, Commissioner, BBMP while inaugurating the Credai’s realty expo in Bangalore. “Bangalore is a city where many people come from all over for jobs and business. This is the perfect way for them to look for suitable homes,” he added. About 43 builders and four financial institutions took part in the expo.

UAS Dharwad ‘Sneha Tanda’

Sneha Tanda (friend’s forum) teams of University of Agricultural sciences (UAS) Dharwad is playing an important role in transfer of technology at the field level said Dr. H. S. Vijaykumar Vice-Chancellor, UAS, Dharwad. Addressing “Transfer of Technology for Food Security” under Rastriya Krishi Vikas Yojane, he further said farmers should get proper price for their produce and cold storage facilities should be available for storage of the crops grown by them. He also said low cost income generating agricultural production technology is the need of hour. Dr. M. B. Chetti, Director of Extension, UAS, Dharwad said huge losses are occurring during production, processing, storage, grading and marketing of food crops. So farmers need technology in this direction to produce quality food crops and proper distribution of the same for food security.

Resil Chem wins nano award

Resil Chemicals, a Bangalore based manufacturer of silicones and specialty chemicals, has bagged the Bangalore India Nano Innovation Award 2013 for outstanding technological innovations. Resil won the award for an antibacterial and antimalodour technology developed in collaboration with ARCI and IIT Delhi, which can be applied on specific products such as textiles, leather and plastics.

Vehicle donated to Akshaya Patra

The Corporation Bank has contributed one meal distribution vehicle to The Akshaya Patra Foundation, the largest NGO run school meal program which currently feeds over 1.3 million children across the country every day. S R Bansal, Chairman of the bank flagged off the mid day meal vehicle along with Madhu Pandit Dasa, Chairman, The Akshaya Patra Foundation. The meal delivery vehicle will help transport hot, nutritious meals from the centralized kitchens to about 4,000 children daily in 40 schools each day.
