Call to implement ‘Rinn Mukthi’

Banks in Ernakulam have been asked by the District Collector to immediately implement the ‘Rinn Mukthi’ scheme. Rinn Mukthi is the scheme formulated by SLBC as required by the Government to save the poor from unscrupulous money lenders. Inaugurating the District Level Review Committee of banks, the Collector, MG Rajamanickam, directed bank officials to conduct awareness programmes through financial literacy centres. Banks must do everything to ensure that the poor are not left at the mercy of money lenders, he said.
