To improve business amenities in west Kochi, Indian Chamber of Commerce & Industry has chalked out a three-point agenda for 2014-15.

Chamber President Rajkumar Gupta told reporters here that the trade body would take steps to remove the hurdles being faced by various business associations in the west Kochi area by coordinating with the concerned government agencies.

To improve the civic amenities in the western side of the city, there would be regular meetings especially focussing at improving drinking water, sanitation, drainage, water resource management. In line with the Swachch Bharat Abhiyan Programme of the Prime Minister, the Chamber proposes to take up a ‘Clean Kochi’ campaign on November 14 in coordination with civic authorities.

Welcoming the decision of the Kochi Port to reduce handling cost of containers, Gupta said that it would benefit the Exim trade in the region. The Chamber will soon call a meeting of leading exporters and importers to chalk out an action plan in this regard.
