The Calcutta High Court on Monday reserved its order on a plea for suo motu contempt against West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee for her alleged comments against the judiciary. After hearing a verbal prayer for initiating the contempt process, a division bench of Chief Justice Arun Mishra and Justice Joymalya Bagchi reserved its order. Former city Mayor and senior counsel Bikash Ranjan Bhattacharyya had on August 16 made an oral plea before the bench praying for suo motu contempt proceedings against Banerjee for her alleged comments on the judiciary.
