GV Muralidhara, Dean of Case Research Centre at ICFAI Business School (IBS), Hyderabad, was presented with the 2013 EFMD (European Foundation for Management Development) Case Writing Award for the Best Case in ‘Emerging Global Chinese Competitors’ category for the case ‘Lenovo: Challenger to Leader’ by Eric Cornuel, Director-General & CEO of EFMD at a conference in Vienna on June 16.
The case study on Lenovo, co-authored by Muralidhara and Hadiya Faheem, discusses the success story of the Beijing-based multinational technology giant and its emergence as a global brand, says a press release from the business school.
The 2013 EFMD Case Writing Competition was keenly contested with 258 case entries from 30 countries for awards in 15 categories. The European Foundation for Management Development (EFMD) is a globally-recognised international membership organisation based in Brussels, Belgium, with members from the academia, business, public service and consultancy in 81 countries. It is an accreditation body of quality in management education.
The winners in other categories included ESADE Business School, ESCA School of Management, IE Business School, IMD, Indian Institute of Management Calcutta, Indiana University, Indian School of Business, INSEAD, ITAM Mexico, Lagos Business School, SDA Bocconi and Solvay Brussels School of Economics and Management.
IBS Hyderabad has a dedicated Case Research Centre with a repository of 5,500 case studies in management. These cases are used by top management institutions around the world, added the release.
