The Hud Hud Cyclone is likely to cross Andhra Pradesh coast near Visakhapatnam on Sunday impacting four districts.

K.Ramgopal, Commissioner for Disaster Management Revenue Department, in a statement issued late in the evening, it said the cyclone impact will be felt in four districts of Srikakulam, Vizianagaram, Visakhapatnam and East Godavari.

Fifty-nine mandals and 356 villages in these districts have been identified as cyclone prone mandals. Around three lakh people are likely to be affected by the cyclone.

The State has set up 320 relief camps and 19 National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) teams have been deployed in these four districts.

The columns of Army have been stationed at Visakhapatnam and Srikakulam with power boats and other equipments for rescue and relief operations. Six helicopters have been positioned in the Naval base at Visakhapatnam and arrangements have been made with Air Force for getting additional helicopters for evacuation relief and rescue operations immediately after landfall of Cyclone.

The district administration has made arrangements for communication, including 15 satellite phones. Apart from making arrangements for all essential commodities like rice, dal, and oil, control rooms have been opened in all these districts and mandal headquarters.
