State Health Minister V. S. Sivakumar has inaugurated the Global Hospital Liver Clinic here on Friday.

This is a venture of Chennai-based Global Health City, a leading tertiary care multi-super specialty hospital.

The Global Hospitals Group has nine hospitals at Hyderabad, Chennai, Bangalore and Mumbai offering advanced patient care. The Global Hospitals Liver Clinic, Thiruvananthapuram, is situated at Devi Scans, a leading medical services laboratory based here.

Advanced care

The liver clinic aims at enhancing levels of treatment and patient care for all liver and pancreas diseases at affordable cost, a spokesman for Global Health City said.

Information centre at the clinic here will function as nerve centre for information on how to manage patient care during health emergencies.

K. Ravindranath, Chairman and Managing Director, Global Hospitals Group, said an increasing number of patients are travelling to Chennai to meet in-house specialists. “It is for their convenience and in our endeavour to deliver timely treatment that we have started the liver clinic here.”

Global Health City is a one-stop destination offering advanced services for health problems and serious emergencies. “The people of Thiruvananthapuram and from the region can look forward to privileged services with personal care,” Ravindranath said.

SPECIALIST CLINICS

Apart from the periodic super specialist clinics with personal visits by specialists, the centre will also provide faster access to super specialist opinions and second opinions.

The centre will provide tips to patients undertaking the travel to Bangalore or Chennai so as to make it safer.

Among those were present at the inaugural were A. R. Noushad, chairman and managing director, and S. Nizarudeen, executive director, Devi Scans.
