Air Customs officials at Kochi airport on Sunday morning seized 2 kg gold bars from the flush tank of one of the toilets in the immigration counters of the arrival area. The two gold bars, wrapped together, were immersed in the flush tank of the gents’ toilet. The market value of the gold is over ₹56 lakh. Customs official suspect that the smuggler deposited the gold bars in the flush tanks on arrival from abroad for his contact among the airport staff to collect them. The smuggler could not be identified.
