The Sahar police have removed unauthorised loaders belonging to the Vimantal Hamal Ekta Sangathana and Vande Matram from the premises of the Mumbai International Airport at terminal T2 and domestic terminal T1.
Airport authorities said the loaders were operating illegally and causing a lot of hardship to passengers, often fleecing them on the pretext of helping them. There were instances of the loaders attacking the airport security who tried to prevent their entry.
Under the leadership of Virendra Mishra, DCP Zone VIII, the police evicted the unauthorised loaders, registered cases and arrested some of them.
The police are now concentrating on removing touts from the airport premises, the authorities added.
