The Government will accord top priority to developing world-class infrastructure facilities in an environment-friendly manner at all tourist destinations in Kerala, said State Tourism Minister A P Anil Kumar.
Speaking after laying the foundation stone for a new four-storeyed guest house at Munnar, he said the government is only following a policy of environment-friendly infrastructure development. The construction of the guest house will take place in a phased manner and the government will provide all necessary support to complete the project in a time-bound manner.
The State Tourism department has decided to construct the additional guest house with modern facilities in the heart of Munnar in order to offer more quality services to the tourists visiting the famous hill station. The new building will come up near the old guest house, which has only eight rooms.
According to the officials, the construction of the new guest house will be in three stages and it will have a total of 36 rooms in four floors. In the first stage, the works on ground and first floors will be completed. The new guest house will have conference rooms, modern kitchens and a high-end restaurant.
