MMTC is holding a five-day gold jewellery exhibition here from April 10 on the occasion of Ugadi (Telugu new year day which falls on April 11), introducing a new range to suit the festival season, according to Ashish Majumdar, Chief General Manager.

He said here on Saturday that one could get to see an array of contemporary designs and workmanship, browse and choose from one lakh designs which would be on display at the expo. However, this time the focus seems to be on light-weight jewellery, reversible jewellery, Sanchi’s silverware of 92.5 per cent purity apart from the display of gold and silver medallions.

He said that people in the city had responded well to their collection last year. “To add grace to the festival season, we are going to bring assorted ornaments to suit the needs of the people of the city,” he said.

In the expo conducted by MMTC here last year, ornaments worth Rs 8 crore were sold and this time the figure may touch Rs 10 crore, according to officials.

MMTC conducts jewellery exhibitions across the country. The city shoppers can also avail themselves of easy payment methods with the help of Muthoot Fincorp which can be accessed at the five-day expo commencing from April 10 from 9:30 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. MMTC has tied up with Muthoot Finance for finance option.

Among others, CEO of Muthoot Fincorp Keyur Shah, General Manager of MMTC Suresh Babu and Deputy General Manager A. Hari Gopal also participated. MMTC’s retail outlet will be opened shortly in the city.
