The second edition of Coastal Shipping and Inland Water Transportation (IWT) Business Summit 2014 will be held here on August 29 at Hotel Crown Plaza.
The summit, which will explore the immense potential of coastal shipping and waterways in the country, will be inaugurated by Union Shipping Minister Nitin Gadkari.
Former Shipping Secretary K Mohandas, who is the chairman of the summit, said that this edition of the summit will create a platform to discuss various topics, including making coastal shipping and inland water transportation a reality.
He pointed out that a shift to waterways for movement of cargo could happen only with deliberate, well-coordinated efforts from the governments, infrastructure providers, cargo owners and the shipping industry.
