The city-dwellers will have one more place to hangout in nature. The Telangana Forest Department is re-opening Bhagyanagara Nandanavan, a wildlife park.
“We are re-dedicating the renovated and upgraded park to the people on Friday as part of the Forest Week (Vanya Prani Saptah),” PK Sharma, Chief Wildlife Warden and Special Principal Chief Conservator of Forests, Telangana told newspersons here on Wednesday.
Located about 25 km away from the city at Narepally village of Ghatkesar mandal, the park is spread over 200 ha of land. Various facilities were provided for the visitors including nature cycling, Xerophytes park, children playing area and meditation shelter, among others, the official said.
The park has both visiting area as well as conservation zone for wildlife. Mammals like spotted deer or Chital, wild boar, mongoose, various birds, reptiles and over 30 species of butterflies are housed in the park, he added.
